Ask Dr. Lorett.
How can I improve my oral health?
Each person has their own unique oral health. Our team is able to give you personalized information tailored to your needs. We may recommend that you make positive, healthy changes. For example, switching the type of toothbrush and mouthwash used, flossing daily and correctly, brushing frequently and improving your overall daily home-care routine are good steps to take. Ask! We are here to help.
How often should I visit the dentist?
How often an individual should visit the dentist is determined by several factors. These include current oral health in relation to whole-body health, past dental history, risk factors for dental disease (teeth, bone and gum) and your preferences. With all of these considerations, Dr. Lorett and staff will be able to determine how frequently you should see the dentist for cosmetic/restorative needs as well as level, interval and type of cleaning needed.
Suggestions for routine dental care.
• Brush teeth (at least) twice a day with ADA-accepted toothpaste.
• Floss daily or more often and use supplemental cleaners when flossing is not possible.
• Replace toothbrush/toothbrush head every 3 months or sooner when needed, i.e., sickness.
• Eat a balanced diet and limit soft drinks.
• Visit us regularly for professional cleaning and oral exams.
